01 · Why Teams Choose Incepta

Three reasons
to start with Incepta.

Production-grade tooling without the production-grade timeline or budget.

Reason 01 / 03

You need parts in weeks, not months.

Pilot builds, clinical trials, design validation. A production tool takes 16+ weeks. Incepta Tooling gets you to first shot in as little as four.

Reason 02 / 03

Production tooling is a budget gate.

Multi-cavity steel can run six figures. Incepta Tooling starts as low as $4,500, so you can validate the part before you commit the capital.

Reason 03 / 03

Test it in Real Steel.

Resin shrink, gating, weld lines, and ejection all behave differently in steel than in print. Don't let tooling costs hold up your program.

02 · How It Works

You buy the insert.
We supply everything else.

Incepta Tooling splits the build between you and MMT. You own the cavity insert and can take it to any shop later. We handle the frame, ejection, cooling, and gating.

You Supply
  • The cavity insert (you keep it)
  • Final part design and CAD
  • Resin selection and color
  • Production volume forecast
MMT Supplies
  • P20 mold frame and base
  • Ejection, cooling, and gating
  • DFM review and tool design
  • First-article samples and reporting
03 · The Program

Real steel.
Real production parts.

Incepta is not a prototype tool. It is a production-grade single-cavity tool that runs on the same presses, with the same resins, and to the same documentation standards as full production work.

P20 & H13 Tool Steel

Real production-grade tool steel, not aluminum or 3D-printed inserts. P20 for general use, H13 for high-temperature and abrasive resins. The same materials we use on full production tools.

  • Hardened P20 standard, H13 on request
  • Production surface finishes available
  • Compatible with engineering-grade resins

Customer Insert, MMT Frame

You buy the cavity insert. We supply the P20 mold frame, ejection, cooling, and gating. The insert is yours to take, modify, or scale into a multi-cavity production tool later.

  • MUD-style modular base
  • Standardized ejection and cooling
  • Insert portable to higher-cavity tools

First Shot in 4-6 Weeks

Kickoff to first shot in as little as four weeks. Faster than most production timelines, slower than 3D print because it's real steel running on a real press in your final resin.

  • DFM review in the first week
  • Single-cavity standard, multi on request
  • Runs on our 40T–1000T press floor

Up to 25,000 Parts

Tool life supports up to 25,000 parts on most resins. Enough for design validation, clinical builds, market launches, and bridge production while a high-cavity tool is being built.

  • Engineering-grade resins supported
  • Cleanroom molding available
  • Bridge into multi-cavity production seamlessly
04 · Where Incepta Fits

Four programs
Incepta was built for.

Bridge tooling earns its keep on the programs where time and risk matter more than per-part cost.

Use Case 01

Design Validation

Prove out fit, function, and assembly in the final resin before locking in a multi-cavity tool.

Use Case 02

Bridge Production

Run real parts while your high-cavity production tool is being built. No gap in supply.

Use Case 03

Market Launch

Ship the first 10–25k units to early customers while you measure demand and finalize cost targets.

Use Case 04

Clinical & Regulatory Builds

Real production-grade parts for IQ/OQ/PQ studies, clinical trials, and FDA submissions.

05 · Timeline

CAD to first shot
in four to six weeks.

A predictable schedule, week by week. You sign off at each gate.

1
Week 0

DFM & Quote

Send us your part CAD. We review for moldability and confirm pricing in three business days.

2
Week 1

Tool Design

Insert geometry, gating, cooling, and ejection finalized. Customer-approved before steel is cut.

3
Week 2–3

Cut Steel

Insert machined in P20 or H13. Frame, plates, and ejection assembled in parallel.

4
Week 4

First Shot

Tool runs on our press floor in your final resin. First-article samples shipped for approval.
